in New York!
Tom is teaching a weekend seminar for dog owners and dog professionals at his training facility, Upstate Canine Academy. We will cover obedience, relationship-building, behavior, and more. Tom is a world-renowned canine educator who specializes in behavior modification and human-dog relationships. If you are struggling with your dog or looking for a deeper knowledge of dog behavior, don’t miss this opportunity to work with Tom and observe the dog training process in real time.
Which ticket should I purchase?
Working spot – bring your dog to train with Tom! He will work with you and your dog throughout the weekend on any issues & goals you have. Tom will work with you 1-1 as well as integrate distractions with other dogs and people as the weekend progresses. This spot includes bringing one additional person.
Audit spot – observe the training process, ask questions, and meet Tom! Audit spots do not bring their dog.
This event will be open to dogs of all training levels. The working dogs will be on a 15-25 minute rotation, better known as a crate and rotating schedule. Please prepare to keep your dog in your vehicle in between training sessions. Each day will have appropriate breaks, including a 1-hour and 15-minute lunch break.
Please bring your own lunch/snacks. BYOC! This stands for Bring Your Own Chair. We will have a few extras if you are traveling a far distance and cannot bring your own.
Schedule:
Friday, December 8th, working spots will meet with Tom at 6:00pm to go over your goals and create a roadmap for you and your dog throughout the weekend.
Saturday, December 9th and Sunday, December 10th registration starts at 8:45 AM and the seminar hours are 9:00 AM -5:00 PM. Both days are open to all audit and working spots. There will be a break from around 12:30/1pm for lunch.

Will the organizers of the event have group hotel rates for those travelling out or state? Recommended hotels near by? Is this accessible via subway ? Or do you need a car to travel to the venue?
Hi, we’re located in Upstate New York – about 20 minutes from Albany. There are no subways near us. The hotel we recommend is the La Quinta in Clifton Park, NY. You can mention you are associated with UCA and they will give you a discount.
Holy cow. The working spot tickets sold out so fast before I could rearrange my current travel plans I have on those dates. Is it possible for extra spots or notification if someone decides to drop out or cancel?

Hello! Are the seminars on Saturday and Sunday different?
Hi Michelle! The seminars aren’t different. Saturday will be the beginning stages of Tom working with all of the working spots dogs. Sunday the dogs will continue to progress. The information will be different each day as the Tom will be working on different things as the dogs and owners train throughout the weekend.
For the audit sessions, do visitors bring their dogs? When will the next working spot be offered? Thanks.
No, audit tickets are observation only. Audit tickets do not allow you to bring a dog. Working spots are sold out, but you can email canineeducator@gmail.com to be put on the cancelation list.
